It was around 2am. I’ve been tossing and turning in bed. Because you’ve been on my mind. I picked up my mobile phone and was about to speed dial your number. Old habits die hard. And then I remembered. It’s exactly a year today since you went to a better place.

The various hobbies I use to relax and get my thoughts in order didn’t work. Listening to my favourite songs just remind me of you. The words of the books I tried to read looked like gibberish. I just couldn’t concentrate. Your memory was just strong on my mind. You always found a way to cheer me up. Nothing I could do.

I got out of bed in order to see if I could continue working on my new book but I couldn’t even make a complete and meaningful sentence. It just felt as if the imaginative part of my brain was on vacation. You used to inspire me and make me laugh with your lovely voice. But that’s a thing in the past.

I stared at the clock on my desk and just wished that I could turn back the hands of time. Maybe if I went back to when you were still a big part of my life, I might be able to do things differently. The memory of the mistake I made came flooding back and I suddenly felt Melancholy. I shouldn’t have left you alone that evening because you told me to stay longer than I did. I should have spent a little more time with you instead of going out with my friends. Maybe I could have protected you. Sadly, I don’t have the power of time travelling.

My life used to be interesting but now it’s just dull and rigid. I loved the way your mind worked. You almost always saw the bright side of things. I brought out a photo album and go through all the photos inside. The memories came flooding back and I removed the very first picture of you that I snapped. You looked as beautiful to me as ever. I turned it over to look at the words which I wrote there myself and it broke my heart.

I wrote those four words because I knew it was the truth. Before I met you, there was this void in my heart. But right from the first moment I saw you, I felt complete. I’ve dated a lot of girls before then but it never developed into something more. I couldn’t explain it but when you came into my life, I suddenly felt invincible. Maybe that was why I didn’t listen to you on the day everything went downhill. The last thing I saw clearly before my sight became blurry with tears was those four words.

I’ll always love you.

Its Been A Long Time

To say that its been a long time since my last post on this blog would be an understatement. I could list countless excuses right now about the reason why I didn’t post new contents but the truth is that I’ve been lazy and uninspired. I’ll try to make amends this month of September.
September is my month after all and my birthday was yesterday 4th of September. In case you’re wondering how old I am, I won’t tell you but I’m in my late twenties. I will like to apologize for neglecting my blog for so long. Its not a promise but I’ll make sure I post as many as possible times every week. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

An Open Letter To My Future Wife

Dear Future Wife,

I hope you’re having a great day so far? I would have loved to talk with you in person — you know that I love hearing your voice — but I guess this letter will surfice.

The rate at which couples are getting divorced these days is quite alarming. Gone are those days when you hear about couples celebrating thirty years anniversary. Although I can’t promise that we won’t disagree on some issues, I can promise that none of our future arguments will end in divorce. I’ll try my best to always make sure we settle our misunderstandings amicably.

A lot of men stop doing all the things they did to get their wives to fall in love with them once they’re married but I’ll be an exception rather than the rule. I really enjoyed the thrill of trying to get your attention and how you gave me a hard time; I enjoyed that challenge. I won’t stop proving to you that I love you. Although I can’t love you forever, I will love you till the day I die.

About the issue of infidelity, you can trust me on that. I have a very good role model; my dad. I’ll be faithful to our marriage vows by not cheating on you with another woman. You will also have to be faithful to me.

I look at some married women and just shake my head. Why? Because they look shabby and unkept. Please don’t stop dressing well and looking pretty. I won’t be jealous if men admire you when we go out together. But keep the flirting at a minimum level. I’ll also endeavour to dress well.

“The way to a man’s heart is through the stomach”. The first person who said this must have been like me. You know I love eating and I’ll be glad if you can cook delicious meals. I especially love spaghetti and amala. I will help out in the kitchen whenever I can.

If there’s anything else I want to talk to you about you’ll receive another letter from me. Bye for now.

Your Love,

P.S. — Please don’t kiss your current boyfriend but if I’m that current boyfriend…………………

September Four

Once upon a September on precisely the fourth day around 7AM, at the General Hospital Bauchi, Bauchi state, a tall black boy – although he wasn’t tall yet – was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Olaniyi Oke. They named him ADEWUYI OLATUNDE AYOBAMI ISHOLA.

bday 2

Every year since then on September 4, Adewuyi celebrates his birthday. Adewuyi could really use a wish before the day ends.

Why Are You So Reticent?

A girl once asked me “why are you so reticent?”.

I just stared and smiled at her without giving her an answer. The reason why I didn’t answer is not because I wanted to be rude. I just didn’t know what to say.

I’m the kind of person who loves playing my cards close to my heart. You have to be really good friends with me before I tell you something important about me.

Another reason why I don’t reveal my feelings or thoughts easily is because I don’t like to count my chicks before they hatch. I like to be 100% sure about something before I take action on anything.

A lot of my friends have accused me of being too secretive but they tend to tell me personal issues about them because they know I’ll never reveal it to anybody else.

Maybe I just have trust issues like Eminem. *winks*

I am sorry that I’ve not written in a while. I’ve been kinda busy. Thanks

My Favorite Food

And my favorite food is……………….. drum roll……………Spaghetti and Chicken.

A friend once told me that a hungry man is an angry man. Its quite true in most cases.

Man shall not live by bread alone but I love eating a lot and I’m a big fan of home-cooked meals. I only eat junk foods if I don’t have a choice.

Although I love eating, I’m quite choosy and I don’t like experimenting. That’s why I don’t eat most of this foreign cuisines. Spaghetti is one of the few exceptions.

The first time I ate spaghetti was when I was at boarding house during my High school Days. My mum came visiting on one of the visiting days and she brought Spaghetti and Chicken.

I didn’t feel like eating it because I hadn’t eating it before. The aroma of the food was enticing though and I was quite hungry. The chicken breast on it was also tempting. I took my first bite and I must confess that I really enjoyed it. I ate a lot more than I usually do.

Its been over a decade since the first time I ate spaghetti and each time I eat it again I practically fall in love with it anew.

I can even say that I am now an expert in cooking spaghetti. I particularly Love using chicken broth to cook it. I have a desire to visit Italy someday and order for spaghetti at a restaurant there.

The Search For The Rare Bird

Earth is a vast place. It has seven continents and there are quite a lot of birds in each of this continents.

Africa, which is the third largest continent on Earth certainly has lots of birds. Some are in the Northern part and some are in the South. The others are in the Eastern and Western parts of Africa.

I’m currently living in the Western part of Africa, Nigeria to be precise. Nigeria is also majorly divided into East, West, North and South and there are countless birds in Nigeria.

I was given birth to at the Northern part of Nigeria and I lived there for the first fourteen years of my life before relocating to the Western part of Nigeria. Now, I’m currently at the Southern part of the country.

In my twenty-something years on Earth, I’ve seen quite a lot of birds. They are everywhere, but I’m particularly searching for a rare bird.

There are some birds that I’v caught and thought where the rare bird I’v been searching for but it later turns out that I was mistaken.

There is a rare bird I’v got my eye on right now but its been quite difficult to catch. I’m working on a new plan to catch the rare bird right now. I hope the plan works because I’m certain its the right one.

Wish me luck.
